Lismore LEADers Share Their Halloween ‘Spirit’

Lismore youthLEADarts kicked off local Halloween festivities with a pumpkin carving contest and spooky feast this week.

Our number one volunteer and youth mentor Melanie Mcduff showed true leadership by taking ACTION to design this spooky night of food and fun. Drawing inspiration from Facebook and Pinterest, Melanie said, “I wanted something simple but fun and unique that they might not have seen before.”

On the menu, she featured a skeleton veggie platter, mummy hotdogs, and chocolate dirt cups filled with gummy worms. Coppertop Farms donated pumpkins of different shapes and sizes giving our youth the chance to choose the canvas they wanted to create their designs on! The results were spooktacular!!

After their masterpieces were carved and decorated, the youth got the chance to strut their stuff and introduce their pumpkins to each other. There was a lot of laughter, and even some break dancing going on!

It is just so exciting to be able to collaborate with these amazing young LEADers and volunteers whose sense of fun and community spirit make Lismore the best place to be.

youthLEADarts is excited to be running a monthly drop in program for youth aged 8 and up one Wednesday a month from 5-7pm.  Our next gathering is Wednesday, November 23rd 2022, from 5-7pm.  We hope to see you there!
