Lismore youthLEADarts was a rocking this past week when local musicians Vivi Chediac (Director Carillon Singers, Music Director Lismore Springtime Review) and Steve Guthro (Percussion, guitar, singer performer Lismore Springtime Review) and Vic (Steve’s friend who joined us on electric guitar) jammed with our youth.
Youth mentor and culinary artist Melanie McDuff prepared a musical charcuterie for us all to feast on too. Some of our youth even brought their own instruments that they are learning in school and all of our youth stepped out of their comfort zone, took risks and jumped up to share where they were in their music process.
Vivi, Steve, and Vic were so encouraging and provided such a safe space for kids to learn, grow, and share the gift of music. I think the thing that most impressed me the most about our Lismore youth is how brave they were. I know they were scared to get up and perform but they did it anyway and gave it their all.
It was a fun evening and we can’t wait for some of these youth to perform in our Spring Open studio performance in 2025. Stay tuned!
